Staff and students at Makerere University Business School (Mubs) are in mourning following the death of a student and a lecturer, almost on the same day.
Barbara Amule Atubo was a lecturer at the Department of Finance in the Mubs’ Faculty of Commerce. Amule was pronounced dead on Sunday.
“The School Administration with great sadness announces the death of Ms. Barbara Amule Atubo, a Lecturer in the Department of Finance, Faculty of Commerce. She has passed on today Sunday June 5, 2022 at 4pm,” Jacqueline Namaganda, the university’s acting Human Resource Director, announced.
“Burial arrangements shall be communicated in due course. May the soul of the Late Barbara Amule Atubo rest in eternal peace.”
Hours later, the Mubs dean of students announced the death of Posher Ahereza who was pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Procurement and Supply chain Management.
“Dean of Students, MUBS Announces the death of Ahereza Posher. Ahereza was a second year student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Procurement and Supply chain Management. May her soul rest in eternal peace,” read a death announcement by the university’s administration.
