SAD! Tycoon Aponye Dies in Ntungamo Accident

Prominent billionaire businessman Apollo Nyegamehe, popularly known as Aponye, has died in a tragic accident that happened at Itojo along the Kabale-Mbarara Highway.

The accident happened on the evening of Thursday, July 6, 2023.

The vehicle that Aponye was travelling in is said to have hit a stationary lorry. The tycoon was reportedly heading to Rukiga for an event.

Aponye’s driver and two other people who were in the vehicle sustained serious injuries.

Aponye was also the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) Chairperson for Rukiga District.

Apollo Nyegamehe aka Aponye was running a string of businesses, including vehicles and food stuffs.

He also dealt in real estate and was the owner of Aponye Shopping Mall.
