Kampala Metropolitan Police (KMP) has recovered a dead body of a human being at the home of Charles Tumwine and his wife Naome Tumwine in Kabowa about a week after another body of Patrick Turyasingura, who had been reported missing on the January 26, was found in a septic tank at the same residence three days later.
The identity of the person whose body has been found in the septic tank in the latest search is yet to be known.
“The body was found in a rotting state and could not be readily identified,” said KMP deputy spokesperson ASP Luke Owoyesigyire.
“However, there has been an ongoing inquiry at Katwe Police station into the disappearance of a Male Adult one Akandida Roland from the same home which occurred in December 2020 , and the matter has been under investigations since.”
A DNA test is expected to determine if the body is of Roland Akandinda.
“The remains will be conveyed to city mortuary Mulago for Postmortem as we await for DNA testing to confirm the identity of the remains recovered,” noted Owoyesigyire.
The police publicist further said that the key suspects, Naome Tumwine and Norman Muhangi, who were arrested earlier this week, remain in detention at Katwe Police Station.
Charles Tumwine, another suspect, is still on the run.
