The Traffic Directorate of Uganda Police Force (UPF) has confirmed that at least 20 people have been killed in a Link Bus accident along the Fort Portal-Kampala Highway.
According to Traffic Directorate Spokesperson Faridah Nampiima, the territorial Police in Kyenjojo responded to a fatal accident which occurred May 04 morning at around 10:30am, involving a Link Company bus registration number UBA 003S.
The bus was traveling from Fort Portal to Kampala.
However, about 2km from Fort Portal City at a place called Sebitoli, the bus was involved in a nasty accident.
Nampiima has now confirmed that 13 of the 20 confirmed dead are adults while the rest are juveniles.
“Out of the 20, 11 are male and nine are female. Their particulars will be availed in due course,” said Nampiima.
“The injured have been rushed to Buhinga Hospital for first aid while the dead are at the same hospital for postmortem.”
