Robinah Nabbanja: I once carried a wooden suitcase to school & my fellow students ran away thinking it was a coffin

Prime minister designate Robinah Nabbanja has revealed she once carried a wooden suitcase to boarding school, scaring fellow students who thought it was a coffin.

The Kakumiro District Woman MP shared experiences of her difficult childhood and growing up with NTV Uganda’s Faridah Nakazibwe on her Friday morning profile show Mwasuze Mutya, Nabbanja narrated how she has had to struggle to make it to the top.

For example, while in her primary seven, her father died, leaving her in her mother’s care.

Many thought her father’s demise would affect her performance in the end of primary education examinations.

But she still managed to score a first grade, becoming one of the best candidates in her area.

She also recalled once carrying a wooden suitcase to boarding school, as opposed to the metallic ones, scaring away fellow learners who thought she had brought a coffin to their dormitory.
