The identity of a priest opposition-leaning supporters accused of being a Special Forces Command (SFC) officer reportedly planted at Lubaga Cathedral during the Archbishop Cyprian Kizito Lwanga’s requiem mass has been revealed.
Although, some had claimed the man was an SFC soldier disguised in priestly robes, this publication’s Fact Check Desk can confirm that the person in question is indeed a priest and not an SFC officer.
The priest is Rev Fr Claudia Ssegonja.
Father Ssegonja is the Parish Priest of Nakawuka.
He also previously served as a priest at Luzira Prison, preaching the good news to prisoners.
Archbishop Lwanga has been a victim of fake news in both life and death.
He once rebuked social media users who claimed he was the father of his sister’s twins.
