Revealed: Here’s the true owner of land for which Irene Namubiru claims her mother wants to kill her and grab

Musician Irene Morel Namubiru says her mother Namawejje might kill her over an acre of land in Nambale, Mityana District.

Namubiru has made it clear to all and sundry that in case she mysteriously dies, investigators should look no farther than her mother Namawejje as being responsible for her death.

Even when the matter is currently in court, Namubiru says she is worried her mother might kill her and grab her share of the land.

“I am not allowed to say much since we are still in court but in case something bad happens to me, please you will have to ask my mother, she knows everything,” she said in a recent online interview.

So, who is the true owner of the land?

What all the parties – Namubiru, her mother Namawejje, her aunt Brenda Nyanzi Kigema and brother Roberto Nsimbe – agree with is the fact that the land belonged to the singer’s grandfather.

Godfrey Nyanzi Ssemitego, the father to Namawejje and Brenda Nyanzi Kigema, died in 1998.

What is the subject of Court’s interpretation on who should inherit the land, about eight acres, is whether it should be shared between Namawejje and Brenda Nyanzi Kigema, the late’s daughters or if a verbal will that Semitego’s grand children, including singer Namubiru, should each get one acre of the land.

Namubiru’a brother Nsimbe recently said he believed the land belongs to their mother Namawejje and her sister Brenda Nyanzi Kigema.

Yet Kigema says their father’s verbal will should be respected and Namubiru given her one acre.
