Revealed: Bobi Wine bulletproof car seller Fauz Khalid badly wanted money to inject into parliamentary election

Fauz Khalid, the man who sold Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine a ‘bulletproof’ car, planned to inject the money into the Mvita parliamentary election race, it has emerged.

Khalid, an activist of sorts, has dealt in logistics for over two decades.

Sometime in 2017, Khalid led others in a protest over the consequences of the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) on Mombasa traders.

Police arrested him and his fellow activists, who had described an order by Transport Cabinet Secretary James Macharia for all port cargo to be rerouted from the road to the SGR as “a very draconian policy.”

He has also been silently doing grassroots work, popularizing his bid for the constituency MP seat in the 2022 parliamentary elections.

With electioneering an expensive venture in Kenya, Khalid needed every coin. He thus opted to sell his treasured car to Bobi Wine’s friends to acquire enough money to make Harambe donations and win voters’ hearts.
