Majority of Ugandans do not want first son Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba to stand for president in 2026, results of an opinion poll commissioned by President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni’s boy child have indicated.
In a simple Twitter poll that started running on May 01, Lt Gen Kainerugaba just asked those who wanted him to stand for president in 2026 to retweet and those who did not not want him to contest for the country’s top seat to just like.
By publication time, a little over 18 hours later, 13,969 people had taken part in the poll.
Of these, 3,569 or 25.5 per cent supported the idea of Muhoozi standing for president in 2026.
The majority, up to 10,400 or 74.5 per cent voted to ask the first son not to stand for president.
The poll came on the day Muhoozi announced that his interest in winning power and becoming president was unstoppable. (Read Story Here).
