Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja and Hilary Onek, the minister for Relief, Disaster Preparedness, and Refugees have resolved ri forgive each other, forget the past and move forward in as far as working together for a better Uganda is concerned.
Nabbanja and Onek have been embroiled in a war of words over the Prime Minister’s alleged micromanagement style.
As the war of words seemed to escalate, Vice President Maj (Rtd) Jessica Alupo intervened to try and reconcile the duo.
Alupo chaired a reconciliation meeting which was also attended by Gen Moses Ali, the Second Deputy Prime Minister and Deputy Leader of Government Business in Parliament; Lucy Nakyobe, the Head of Public Service and Secretary to Cabinet; Attorney General Kiryowa Kiwanuka; Dr Chris Baryomunsi, the Minister of Information, Communications Technology and National Guidance; and Esther Davinia Anyakun, the State Minister for Relief, Disaster Preparedness and Refugees.
After the meeting, VP Alupo said Nabbanja and Onek had agreed to work together.
“We have had a good meeting and agreed to work together. We have decided to leave certain issues in the past and work for the betterment of our country,” said the Vice President.
“We have agreed to look ahead and forget the past. We are one.”
