MBARARA CITY, UGANDA – Prudential Assurance Uganda has undertaken two impactful initiatives aimed at strengthening community ties and fostering personal growth: the Prudent Kyoto event and the painting of the children’s ward at Holy Innocents Children’s Hospital. These activities are part of the Prudent Cities initiative.
Prudential Assurance Uganda Limited is a wholly owned subsidiary of Prudential plc. Prudential plc provides life and health insurance and asset management in 23 markets across Asia and Africa (at 31 December 2022). The business helps people get the most out of life, by making healthcare affordable and accessible and by promoting financial inclusion.
In line with its commitment to community service, Prudential Assurance Uganda has painted the children’s ward at Holy Innocents Children’s Hospital and distributed toys to the young patients. This initiative underscores the company’s dedication to improving children’s health and well-being in Uganda.
“Our CSR activity at Holy Innocents Children’s Hospital is a testament to our commitment to making a positive impact in the communities we serve,” Peter Andrew Mugarura, Head of Marketing, Prudential Uganda, stated.
“We believe that supporting children’s health and providing a nurturing environment is crucial for their development, which perfectly fits within our purpose: “For Every Life, For every Future”.
The Prudent Kyoto event, inspired by the African traditional fireplace known as “Kyoto,” symbolizes the warmth, stability, and sense of community that a strong financial foundation can provide. The event facilitated discussions on various life challenges, offering practical advice for personal growth and financial planning.
“We created the Prudent Kyoto event to provide a space where individuals can come together, share experiences, and gain valuable insights into building a stable financial future,” said Mugarura. “By drawing parallels between a well-built Kyoto and financial security, we hope to inspire and educate our community.”
This particular Kyoto was themed “Can We Talk? Practical Approach to Personal Growth.” The event featured an engaging session with guest speaker Patrick Muhereza, a renowned Catalytic Thought Leader, Speaker, and Social Impact Investor. Muhereza shared his insights on personal and financial growth, inspiring attendees to take proactive steps towards a secure future.
“Personal growth is not just about reaching your goals, but about building a foundation that can withstand life’s challenges. The Prudent Kyoto event provided a unique platform for meaningful conversations and practical advice,” said Muhereza.
These initiatives are part of Prudential Assurance Uganda’s broader “Future Yo” campaign, which aims to raise awareness about the importance of financial planning and protection. As part of this campaign, the Prudent Life Plan has been introduced, offering unique benefits and comprehensive coverage to policyholders.
“The ‘Future Yo’ campaign is designed to help our clients secure their future and that of their families,” Mugarura added. “Our innovative Prudent Life Plan is a key component of this campaign, providing robust financial security and peace of mind.”
Prudential protects people’s wealth, helps them grow their assets, and empowers them to save for their goals. The business has dual primary listings on the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong (2378) and the London Stock Exchange (PRU). It also has a secondary listing on the Singapore Stock Exchange (K6S) and a listing on the New York Stock Exchange (PUK) in the form of American Depositary Receipts. It is a constituent of the Hang Seng Composite Index and is also included for trading in the Shenzhen-Hong Kong Stock Connect programme.
Regulated by the Insurance Regulatory Authority of Uganda, Prudential Uganda is not affiliated in any manner with Prudential Financial, Inc. a company whose principal place of business is in the United States of America, nor with The Prudential Assurance Company Limited, a subsidiary of M&G plc, a company incorporated in the United Kingdom.
