Profile: The life and times of Sheikh Nuuhu Muzaata – and people he clashed with

Sheikh Nuuhu Muzaata, the head of Da’awa at the Kibuli faction passed on December 04 at the International Hospital Kampala (IHK).

Here is a quick look at the life and times of the vocal Muslim cleric:

  • Father: Adam Muzaata (RIP) (he was a religious healer and exorcist)
  • Place of birth: Bwaise, Lufula Zone near Kimombasa

  • Bilal Quran Islamic School, Wandegeya
  • Said to have led a student’s strike at Bilal Quran Islamic School over poor administration
  • Was popular with religious and political debates
  • 1982: joined  the University of Madina in Saudi Arabia

  • Ran a tour and travel company, particularly to arrange Hijja trips
