In 2020, Lukanga sought the NRM flag for the Makindye East MP seat.
But she lost to Elijah Owobusingye.
Lukanga chose to stand as an independent candidate.
She was the only woman in the eight-candidate race.
She and six others lost to Derrick Nyeko of the NUP.
