Exactly 11 days since he was first diagnosed with Covid19, the latest test results from samples taken from Ugandan President Gen Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni have been released.
Museveni tested positive on June 07, 2023, on the Day of the State of the Nation Address. Museveni had felt ‘a mild pre-flu type of state on Tuesday, the day before’ but “had, however, ignored the symptoms until the following day when I had a slight running nose for a little while.”
Museveni would then ask his doctors to take samples for Covid19 testing. Initial test results were confusing and President Museveni directed that his wife should not travel to Kololo with him in the same car. (See Details Here).
Museveni has also revealed that he considered driving himself to Kololo to ensure that his drivers and aides do not get infected with Coronavirus.
“I also wanted to drive myself in one of the cars until the doctors reconfirmed to me that the driver’s ADC’s compartments, air-conditioning wise, are totally separated from the rear compartment.”
Museveni would inform the nation on what his longtime personal doctor Diana Atwine had told him about the seriousness of the disease. (Read Story Here).
Museveni has, for nearly two weeks, been on sick leave, delegating his roles to an acting president.
Now, he has confirmed that the test results indicate that he is free from Covid19. He saluted all those who prayed for him and wished him a speedy recovery.
“On the war with corona, it is now confirmed that I am a veteran graduate of the war with that enemy. Today, the samples showed that I had turned negative vis a vis corona,” said the president.
“Even the samples of Wednesday last, had showed reduced presence of the virus parts. The Glory goes to God.”
Meanwhile, as we reported sometime ago, a popular prophet has revealed that a certain president from the East African region is suffering from prostate cancer, that he secretly flies abroad for treatment and that he should peacefully hand over power or wait to plunge his country into chaos when he dies in office.
