Premium Tears for Museveni Advisor as Bank Seizes House Over Loan

An advisor to Uganda’s long serving President Gen Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni is in tears after a bank hired the services of auctioneers to sell her house and other properties to recover their money after the female official failed to clear a loan she had secured to inject in her businesses.

Catherine Kusasira’s troubles with a certain financial institution escalated recently after Cranimer Associates, the court bailiffs whose office is located on the fifth floor of Greenland Tower in the Ugandan capital Kampala, placed a notice of sale by public auction or private treaty under the Registration of Titles Act Cap 230, Mortgage Act 2009.

Kusasira had secured a loan but failed to pay, prompting the money lending institution to move to recover its money through the sale of the properties belonging to the presidential advisor on Kampala affairs.

The registered proprietor and guarantor of the property on the verge of auction is Fred Serugga, Kusasira’s husband. Both Kusasira and Serugga are singers.

The property, a house, rentals and land, are comprised in LRV 4195 Folio 23 Block 273 Plot 7 at Luwafu, in Makindye along Abbas Road.

A notice of auction by Cranimer Associates gives Kusasira 30 days within which to clear the loan, the auctioneer’s fees and costs or risk losing their properties.

“Upon instructions from our client a registered mortgagee, we shall proceed to sell the under mentioned property and developments thereon if any, after the expiry of the Thirty (30) days from the date of this notice or thereafter unless the mortgagor/debtor, pays all monies owed to our client, plus our fees and costs incurred in the process,” read the notice published in the papers.

Cranimer Associates have made it clear that the date of sale of the house, land and other developments thereon will be after 30 days from the date of the public of notice and that the time of sale will be 10am or soon thereafter.

Those who are interested in buying Kusasira’s land, house and other properties thereon have been asked to contact the auctioneers’ Greenland Tower offices so as to arrange a visit to the properties.

The auctioneer has since directed tenants and owners to vacate the premises so that those willing to purchase the properties can inspect them without having their peace disturbed.

“All occupants are required to vacate within seven days from the date of this notice to enable prospective buyers inspect the security,” the notice further read.

Catherine Kusasira has over the months been a sad woman. First, in January 2022, Catherine Kusasira claimed that she had lost everything fighting Bobi Wine, only for Museveni to forget to reward her. (Read Story Here).

Two months later, angry Bobi Wine supporters chased Catherine Kusasira from the burial ceremony of singer and NUP member Mathias Walukagga. (Read Story Here).

It should also be remembered that Catherine Kusasira is one of President Museveni’s advisors, who never even get a chance to advise him. In fact, a few months ago, Gen Museveni met his advisors and advised them! (Read Story Here).
