Pray for Kabaka, Katikkiro Mayiga asks Muslims

Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga has urged Muslims to use the Ramadhan time to pray for Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II.

Kabaka Mutebi appeared in public for his 66th birthday sick.

Katikkiro Mayiga would later speak on the king’s health, saying he was suffering from allergies.

Yet some people argued that Katikkiro Mayiga was not telling the whole truth about the Kabaka’s sickness.

These thought the king was suffering from a more serious disease that required specialized treatment abroad.

Days later, the Kabaka’s press secretary Dick Kasolo would later warn that the enemies of Buganda were using the king’s health condition to destroy the kingdom.

But some religious leaders have turned to God, seeking divine intervention for restoration of the king’s health.

For example, House of Prayer Ministries HPM lead pastor Aloysius Bujjingo is concluding a week-long fast for the Kabaka’s healing.

Katikkiro Mayiga has also urged Muslims to remember the Kabaka in their Ramadhan prayers.

Speaking during the Iftar dinner hosted by the kingdom at Bulange Mengo on Friday, Katikkiro Mayiga urged Muslims to “pray for the Kabaka during this time.”

Leading prayers at Bulange, Sheikh Ibrahim Ntanda asked Allah to fully heal the Kabaka, protect him and his kingdom.
