POWER & MONEY as Museveni Launches Kin Kariisa’s Multi-Billion Next Media Park

The Next Media Park is being officially launched today amidst pomp, color and a great show of power and money. 

Arguably the largest media home in Uganda, the Next Media Park will house the conglomerate’s subsidiaries such as NBS TV, Sanyuka TV, Next Radio and NBS TV.

The Next Media Park launch was attended by the powerful mighty of Ugandan political and business fields, with the country’s president Gen Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni being the chief guest.

Also in attendance were: Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja, Chief Justice Alfonse Chigamoy Owiny-Dollo, Justice and Constitutional Affairs Minister Nobert Mao, former trade minister Amelia Kyambadde, Miracle Centre Cathedral Pastor Robert Kayanja, junior investment minister Evelyn Anite, Stanbic Bank CEO Anne Jjuuko, and Deputy Special Forces Command (SFC) boss Brig Gen Charity Bainabaabo.

Uganda Tourism Board (UTB) Executive Director Lilly Ajarova, Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) Executive Director Dorothy Kisaka, and Uganda Media Centre Executive Director Ofwono Opondo also graced the media park launch.

The guests were guided on a tour of the Next Media Park. The tours is part of the activities lined up for the official launch.

In recent years, Next Media Services, especially its NBS TV brand, has sought to change the media landscape in Uganda.

It has hired a number of presenters and reporters from its rivals, particularly Nation Media Group (NMG) subsidiary NTV Uganda and Vision Group.

But the media group has also been accused by the political opposition of being biased in favour of the Museveni regime. (Read Story Here).
