Kakyeka stadium which is heavily guarded by police and Army men is expected to host NUP members for launch of their campaign manifesto for 2020/2021 presidential elections.

Earlier NUP vice President for Western Region Jolly Mugisha and other leaders had camp at Mbarara central police station claiming that their campaign materials have been confiscated by police with their other three supporters.

‘’We are here asking police to give us our campaign materials like the umbrellas, banners, balloons that they confiscated last night but they are playing us pick play’’ said Mugisha

Security operatives are seen moving on the streets of Mbarara city as NUP presidential Candidate Robert Kyagulanyi is slated to launch his manifesto.

Authorities are emphasizing that NUP must adhere to the guidelines issued by electoral commission. They want only 70 people to access the stadium.

Bobi Wine was supposed to launch his campaign manifesto on November 3rd after nominations in Kampala but was blocked by police which prompted him to opt for Mbarara as the best option.

Mbarara district resident Commissioner James Mwesigye has warned that whoever wants to disrupt Bobi Wine’s manifesto launch in Mbarara will be arrested.

‘’There is nobody who can disrupt Bobi Wine because he is a nominated candidate allowed to campaign in Uganda’’ Said Mwesigye

Mwesigye said if Bobi Wine follows what he is being told his manifesto launch must be a success because he is legally recognized by the government of Uganda to campaign for the biggest office in the country.
