Days after the sudden death of the deputy inspector general of Uganda Police Maj Gen Paul Lokech, his Pa’Lubele clan members have asked Ugandans to forgive him.
Maj Gen Lokech suddenly died at his home in Buwate in Wakiso District’s Kira Division.
A postmortem report indicated that Lokech succumbed to a blood clot.
As part of the fallen UPDF officer’s burial program, on August 25, a requiem service happened at Lokech’s home in Kitikifumba Village in Kira.
He will be laid to rest on August 27 at his home in Paipir village, Pader District.
Ahead of Lokech’s burial, Pa’Lubele clan spokesperson Mark Odongkara Odepa has begged for forgiveness of the former Amisom Uganda contingent commander and Deputy Inspector General Of Police.
“If anything happened, if there is any way my father stepped on your toe, as family we are on our toes, we ask for forgiveness,” said Odepa, who is also Lokech’s nephew.
He went on to describe Lokech as a peace-loving and just person.
“I know my father has not stepped on anyone’s toe, he was a person who loves peace, he doesn’t want to see anyone punishing another and that is what he was doing for the country,” Odepa said.
