Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang won’t be available for Saturday’s Premier League clash against Manchester United according to football.london.

The 31-year-old revealed on Wednesday that he has been looking after his mother who is currently suffering from illness.

As a result, the Arsenal captain missed the two games against Southampton in the FA Cup and Premier League.

Gunners boss Mikel Arteta was unsure whether Aubameyang would feature in Saturday’s game, but football.london has been told that the forward will not be involved in the game at Emirates Stadium.

“Yes, he’s our captain and one of the most important players,” he said.

“We are doing everything we can to have him as quickly as possible.”

“But understanding that he’s been through difficult days that he had to support his family. We were here to support him as well with the time that he needed to get that sorted.”

Meanwhile, Thomas Partey, Emile Smith Rowe and Kieran Tierney all trained ahead of Saturday’s match against Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side.

The trio were injury doubts for the game but it appears likely that they all have a chance of being in contention to play.

New signing Martin Odegaard also trained alongside his team-mates and is likely to be named in the squad.

“He hasn’t played that many minutes in Madrid but he’s been training hard and he looks so excited, as we are, to have another big talent at our club,” said Arteta when asked about the Norwegian’s qualities.

“He has the capacity to create chances and to score goals.

“Something that he has improved a lot is his work-rate without the ball as well, so it’s another option to give us more creativity for sure in the final third, and give us more options to set up in different ways against certain teams.”
