Phionah Nyamutoro, Uganda’s junior minister in charge of minerals, is a lucky woman. She not only has President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni’s attention but also love from BET award winner Edirisa Musuuza aka Eddy Kenzo.

Until March 22, Nyamutoro was not known to many Ugandans who do not care about the country’s bloated Parliament.

Currently the Female National Youth MP (from President Museveni’s National Resistance Movement – NRM), Nyamutoro ‘fell in things’ when Museveni appointed her Minister of state for Minerals at the Ministry of Energy and Minerals Development.

For her swearing-in ceremony, Nyamutoro would appear with Eddy Kenzo. President Museveni was recorded asking Nyamutoro who Kenzo was to her.

Days later, Kenzo let the cat out of the bag. He revealed he had been in love with Nyamutoro for a few years and that the two had already been blessed with a child.

Then photos appeared showing Nyamutoro as part of Kenzo’s marketing team years ago.

And now, photos have appeared showing Eddy Kenzo and Nyamutoro in matching jackets.

Nyamutoro does not only have the attention of Eddy Kenzo but also of the President.

Her speech at the April 12 of a tin refinery in Mbarara City saw Museveni, who was in company of his daughter, pay great attention.

“Today’s launch is a manifestation of the vision that President Museveni brought as a leader. It has always been steadfast, and today, all the doubting Thomases get to see that your vision has always been clear from the word go,” submitted Nyamutoro.

“Today’s launch of Woodcross, the first ever tin smelting company in the country, should be a wakeup call to young people. It should prompt them to equip themselves with essential skills to utilize such opportunities.”

The refinery is said to have a production capacity exceeding 1,000 tonnes of London Metal Exchange (‘LME’) Grade A tin metal. Woodcross Resources, the company running the refinery, owns and operates the Ruhama mine (ML1466), a 40km2 mining license in the south western Ugandan district of Ntungamo.

And Ugandans have been discussing how eloquent they think Nyamutoro was – and comparing her to Eddy Kenzo’s ex-girlfriend Remah Namakula.
