Thugs, armed with machetes, have raided government spokesperson and Uganda Media Centre Executive Director Ofwono Opondo’s home in Nasuuti Mukono.
Opondo was out of his home when the attack happened.
Earlier, he reported that he had lost contact with members of his family, but police has since gained access to his home.
“Police found most things in the bedrooms turned upside down,” the government spokesperson wrote.
“The assailants reportedly forced my wife and three daughters into another room. They haven’t yet been found them. Possibly hiding.”
The attack is coming days after the government spokesperson recovered from an illness.
In September 2018, Opondo claimed he had received death threats.
