OVER MY DEAD BODY! Bobi Wine Vows to Go Down Fighting Museveni Plot to Change Constitution Again

National Unity Platform (NUP) president Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine has sworn not to give up the fight to block constitutional amendments aimed at changing the mode of voting for the president from universal adult suffrage to a parliamentary system where only MPs elect the head-of-state.

Reports of a plot to change the constitution to this effect spread January 05 evening through the following day.

Bobi Wine claimed the move was meant to help first son Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba effortlessly ascend to the presidency.

Bobi Wine also predicted that Lt Gen Kainerugaba would not even get 5% of the total votes cast in a presidential election. (Read report here).

Muhoozi 2026 presidential project campaigner Balaam Barugahara has since warned Bobi Wine against calling Museveni’s son a drunkard.

Now, Bobi Wine has sworn he will not give up the fight to oppose the amendments.

“Mr Museveni is attempting to change the constitution again so that only MPs can vote for the president. He wants to use this amendment to impose his chosen leader upon Ugandans since he is losing popularity and knowing how unpopular his preferred successor is,” claimed Bobi Wine during a funeral ceremony of Yusuf Mutyaba, grandfather to Sheriff Najja, the NUP deputy secretary for research, and Wakiso District Speaker.

At the burial that happened in Mityana District, Bobi Wine emphasized: “What he is planning to do will not succeed; we will oppose it, we shall not accept it.”
