Francis Jjingo has quit his job at NTV Uganda, the country’s leading television station, to join the Office of Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja.
Jjingo will replace Julius Mucunguzi who formerly held the role of communications advisor to the Prime Minister of Uganda. Mucunguzi recently landed a job as the spokesperson of the Electoral Commission (EC).
“Julius Mucunguzi emerged as the best candidate during the interviews conducted last year, to fill the position of Head of Public Relations, Electoral Commission,” communicated EC’s Principal Public Relations Officer Paul Bukenya – who had been holding the role in acting capacity since Jotham Taremwa was shown the exit in 2020.
Mucunguzi started work on April 01.
Back to Francis Jjingo, the long-serving NTV Uganda journalist had reported for the station from Parliament of Uganda and also covered the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA).
He had also previously worked for state broadcaster UBC (then Radio Uganda).
As expected, Jjingo’s new job at the OPM will pay him a few times more than his job at NTV Uganda and will be a perfect retirement offer.
