President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni has said Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine and his National Unity Platform (NUP) only injured the ear of the strong National Resistance Movement (NRM) elephant.
Museveni polled 58 per cent of the 10 million votes cast against Bobi Wine’s 35 per cent in the January 14 presidential election.
Museveni has accused Bobi Wine and NUP of massive cheating in Buganda.
The president has also accused Bobi Wine and his party of intimidating NRM supporters.
Bobi Wine outsmarted Museveni in many Buganda subregion polling stations, winning a number of parliamentary seats for NUP.
Yet, Museveni insists his party is still strong.
“NRM is very huge. It’s an elephant,” the president, and NRM national chairman said during his March 14 night address.
“They just injured the ear of the elephant. The elephant is still standing and in charge.
Museveni also advised Bobi Wine supporters who were planning chaos to repent and cooperate with security forces.
