NRM CEC Results: Here are winners and losers

The results from the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) elections for nine Central Executive Committee (CEC) are out.

On August 20, delegates convened at respective district halls to elect CEC members.

They also approved President Yoweri Museveni as national chairperson and 2021 presidential election flag bearer.

Delegates also approved Al hajji Moses Kigongo as first national vice chairman.

Positions voted on were second national vice chairperson (female) and the six regional vice chairpersons: for Karamoja, eastern, northern, western, central and Kampala.

Speaker of Parliament beat off competition from minister Persis Namuganza in the second national vice chairperson race; minister Chris Baryomunsi floored bush war veteran Matayo Kyaligonza in the western Uganda election while Godfrey Kiwanda won the central region vote.
