Nobody killed him: Sheikh Muzaata family reveals cause of outspoken cleric’s death

Sheikh Hamza Nuhu Batte Muzaata succumbed to diabetes and high blood pressure, his family said on December 05, following the top cleric’s demise at the International Hospital Kampala (IHK).

Muzaata was the head of Da’awa at the Kibuli faction.

The family and the Muslim Community held Salat-al-Janazah prayers for him at Kibuli Mosque in Kampala on December 05.

During this requiem, Muzaata’s family revealed he had not been sick for long but had become weak and suffered pain as a result of diseases he had battled for long.

“Sheikh Muzaata has for a long time been battling diabetes and high blood pressure,” said Musa Kakembo, on behalf of the family.

“His health deteriorated recently. Medical experts gave it their all. But Allah decided. We only thank Allah for his life despite the fact that his death has shocked us.”

There had also been speculation that Muzaata had succumbed to Covid19.

Muzaata family close friend Sheikh Yasin Kiweewa warned against speculations of foul play in the demise of the outspoken cleric.

“Nobody killed sheikh Muzaata apart from Allah,” Sheikh Kiweewa said.

“Let us just pray that Allah grants him paradise. I also request whoever he wronged to forgive him because it is human to wrong.”

Muzaata will be laid to rest at Kigogwa village, along Bombo Road December 05 afternoon.
