NEW TWIST: Muhoozi, Police Intervene in Alleged ‘Sheebah-Andrew Mwenda’ Attempted Rape Saga

There is a new twist in the allegations that veteran journalist Andrew Mwenda could be the prominent ‘role model’ singer Sheebah Karungi recently claimed had attempted to rape her.

After Sheebah claimed that she had survived an attempted rape, some people alleged that the prominent person Sheebah had declined to mention was Mwenda, a political and economic commentator as well as CEO of the Independent Magazine. 

Mwenda has denied ever trying to force himself onto Sheebah. He also suggested that Sheebah could just be interested in discrediting first son Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba and his recently concluded birthday celebrations.

“It is no coincidence that her allegations of violation happened the same night we hosted a birthday party of Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba in Entebbe Cricket Oval. We had artists perform there and I’ve asked our event organizers and they have confirmed that she was not one of our entertainers,” said Mwenda. “Sheebah’s ambiguity about the event where she performed and got ‘raped’ is clearly aimed to make people believe she was at Muhoozi’s birthday, which again scores for her more social points as an entertainer at such a high profile event.”

Now, Lt Gen Kainerugaba has said he believed Andrew Mwenda is innocent. “I have read all your comments about Sheebah. I have seriously interrogated my brother Andrew Mwenda and he says he has never met the lady. So, this is definitely another fake story!” wrote the first son. 

Mwenda says Kainerugaba, who is the Commander of UPDF Land Forces and President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni’s senior advisor on special operations, will soon contact Sheebah with the view of assuring her of her safety even when she comes out and names the man who wanted to force himself onto her.

Mwenda ahas also revealed that he has contacted Tom Magambo, the Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID) boss and asked him to summon Sheebah for interrogation.

“I have talked to Muhoozi Kainerugaba who has promised to call Sheeba and offer her all the protection she needs in case she is afraid that revealing the person who raped her would be risky. The singer now has no excuse to fear to collaborate with police to arrest this rapist!” revealed Mwenda. 

“I have talked to the director of CID who has agreed to open a case to find out the person who allegedly raped singer Sheeba Karungi. Police are going to call her and ask her to reveal the offender. Sheebah is being disingenuous in hiding the true rapist as social media lynch me.”

Andrew Mwenda has insisted that he does not even know Sheebah, and that he has never tried to ‘eat her beans with his fingers.’ Mwenda says Sheebah’s allegations could be a publicity stunt. (Read Story Here).
