NEW SALARY STRUCTURE: Besigye Delivers Bad News to Teachers, Doctors

Opposition leader Dr Kizza Besigye has punched holes in the proposed new salary structure for civil servants.

Government has proposed huge salary increments for teachers, doctors and other employees starting July 2022. (Read: NEW SALARY STRUCTURE: See How Much Teachers, Doctors, Judges & Other Government Employees Will Be Earning Every Month Starting July 2022)

But Besigye says the move is just “a preemptive lie.”

“It’s called a PREEMPTIVE LIE! An attempt to calm down starving workers as prices escalate. Untenable with current cost of regime protection, systemic corruption, burgeoning patronage networks etc,” noted the former presidential candidate.

“Any excited Uganda must have freshly landed from Mars!”

Last year, Museveni and his cabinet approved salary increment for teachers, doctors and other health workers. (Read Story Here).

But there have been challenges in the implementation of the proposed increments.

That was not the first time the proposed increments went unimplemented.
