But according to Catherine Bitarakwate, no health worker will be left behind.

All the health workers will share Shs400bn that has been set aside for the increment of salaries for government employees in the health workers

“All health workers, whether local government or allied health, all of them are in [to benefit],” PS Bitarakwate was quoted as telling Daily Monitor.

“All health professional, including morgue attendants, will benefit.”

The Permanent secretary went on to say that the money might not be sufficient to meet all health workers’ expectations but added there would be some increment.

“You cannot get all your expectation, but they will definitely get what is way better than what they have been earning,” Bitarakwate further told the daily.

“Even me, I may choose to say that there are other chief executive officers [in government] getting Shs35m [per month]. So, must I climb a tree because I have been given Shs15m [as PS]?”
