Uganda has confirmed her sixth Covid19 death, the Ministry of Health said in an August 07 statement.
The deceased is a70-year-old Ugandan male, a resident of Nateete Kampala.
He had presented with signs and symptoms consistent with Covid19 at Rubaga Hospital.
When it was confirmed that he had the deadly respiratory disease, he was admitted in the Intensive Care Unit.
On July 28, Rubaga Hospital referred him to Mulago National Referral Hospital where he died on August 06.
Meanwhile, MoH confirmed 31 new cases, meaning that the total infection toll has risen to 1,254. Recoveries stand at 1,113.
Four of the new cases are from Kampala Metropolitan area, four from Wakiso District, one from Sironko District, and one from Bushenyi District.
The others are from Kisoro (two), Amuru (four) and Adjumani (three).
Five were contacts of previously confirmed cases from Kampala Metropolitan Area, one from Kabale District, one from Wakiso District, and one from Namisindwa District.
The new cases also comprise four truck drivers, two of whom arrived from Kenya via Malaba point of entry while two arrived from South Sudan via Elegu.
