President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni has told his ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) leaders in Kibaale District that all security officers like fired deputy police chief Maj Gen Steven Sabiiti Muzeeyi should go and rear goats.
Speaking for the first time since he made some changes in the police and military on December 16, Museveni told NRM leaders who gathered at Bujuni Primary School Grounds, Kibaale Town Council, that he would show any unserious police chief the exit door.
He accused the police administration of failing to do their job and allowing ‘weevils’ to affect law enforcement work.
“I have made some changes in the police. The police slept on the job. They were infiltrated by weevils,” Museveni said.
“For the police I have told them I won’t tolerate this nonsense anymore. Anyone who cannot defend the people goes home to look after goats.”
Museveni fired Muzeeyi just over two years since his appointment.
He now awaits deployment.
Museveni had brought in Muzeeyi to rid the force of weevils which he had accused former police chief Gen Kale Kayihura of helping infiltrate Uganda police.
