President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni has ordered that all national flags fly at half mast as part of mourning the death of Jacob Oulanyah, the former speaker of the 11th Parliament.
On March 20, President Museveni announced that Speaker Oulanyah has died. (Read Story Here).
Now, Museveni has announced that all flags be flown at half mast.
“I direct that the flags in Uganda fly at half- masts until the burial of the Rt. Hon. Jacob Oulanyah. This is provided for in the official burials’ procedures,” said Museveni.
The president also activated the National Organizing Committee to organise the official burial of the late Speaker.
Milly Babirye Babalanda, the minister of the presidency, has been named the chairperson of the under the National Organizing Committee.
