Museveni learns of Janan Luwum wife’s death two years later, expected her at State House

President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni was shocked to learn of the news of the death of ex-Archbishop Janan Luwum’s wife Mary two years after her demise.

Museveni led Ugandans in celebrating the life of Luwum who was allegedly killed by former President Idi Amin Dada in 1977.

Whereas Amin claimed the archbishop had died in a car accident, the church and political observers say the regime of the time killed the man of God for speaking truth to power.

Luwum’s widow may passed on in August 2019 at the International Hospital Kampala.

Although Museveni did not attend her burial in Kitgum, he sent representatives.

But almost two years since Mary’s demise, Museveni was shocked to learn that the cleric’s widow had passed on.

In fact, Museveni had expected Mary Luwum to attend the Janani Luwum Day celebration at State House Entebbe on February 16.
