President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has announced the death of his his paternal aunt Jiresi Keminagano.
She died last night at Nakasero State House according to the President’s Twitter announcement today.
“I regret to announce the death of one of my paternal aunts (tatenkazi), Kaaka Jiresi Keminagano (97). She died at 8pm last night at Nakasero from conditions related to old age and long-time immobility in a wheelchair. She will be buried at Rwakitura, tomorrow,” Museveni tweeted.
He however cautioned relatives and friends to stay away from the burial scheduled for tomorrow as a way of preventing the spread of Covid19 as per the Ministry of Health guidelines.
“Only very few people have been requested to conduct the burial in accordance with the COVID-19 regulations. The relatives, acquaintances, and friends, are requested not to try and congregate at the burial because it is dangerous and has no value addition.”
“We praise the Lord Almighty for her long life. May her soul rest in eternal peace. This is to inform all relatives, friends, acquaintances, and the NRM fraternity.”
The deceased will be laid to rest tomorrow at the family ancestral grounds in Rwakitura, Kiruhura District.
