President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni says he would use his powers to cause problems if he never fought with love.
Museveni was chief mourner during the national prayers for fallen Kampala Archdiocese Archbishop Cyprian Kizito Lwanga, held at Kololo Airstrip in Kampala on April 06.
“Love your God with all your heart and Love your neighbor as you love yourself. Obugambo obu obwa Yesu nze bunkoledde [these words of Jesus have worked for me],” said the president.
“Even when I’m fighting I always fight with love. If I did not fight with love, I could cause a lot of problems. I’m capable of causing a lot of problems. I have all the powers. But I fight with love.”
Museveni further noted that although he doesn’t always attend fellowships and services, he had based his life on the teaching about love.
“When you see people hating each other and then they say they are Christians…please!…please! I can tell you that I have been rewarded [for loving God and neighbor],” he continued.
“I don’t go to [religious] ceremonies so much but in my heart, those two commandments [Love God with all your heart and love your neighbor as you love yourself] have worked for me because even when I’m fighting I fight with love.”
Museveni says doctors didn’t do enough to save Archbishop Lwanga’s life
