Ugandan President Gen Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni has dropped up to six ministers in Thursday’s mini-cabinet reshuffle. Some have been lucky to land jobs as senior presidential advisors – some sort of consolation.
Museveni dropped Karamoja Affairs Minister Dr Mary Goretti Kitutu and Agness Nandutu, her junior colleague in the same docket. The two ministers fell in trouble over the alleged theft and diversion of iron sheets meant for the sub-region. Peter Lokeris is the new minister for Karamoja affairs.
Also dropped from cabinet is Vincent Ssempijja Bamulangaki, the minister of defence and veteran affairs. Jacob Oboth Oboth replaced Ssempijja.
Also fired was Grace Kwiyucwiny. Museveni’s principal private secretary Kenneth Omona will replace Kwiyucwiny as state minister for Northern Uganda.
