President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni has confirmed the date when he will deliver his much anticipated Covid19 lockdown address.
Museveni declared a 42-day lockdown on June 18.
But the date for the delivery of his address, in which he will announce his decision on extending or lifting the lockdown, was not certain.
First his senior press secretary Lindah Nabusayi had said that the president would address the nation on Saturday, July 31.
But on July 28 evening, Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja said the address was likely to happen on Friday, July 30, 2021. (See: Museveni Covid19 Lockdown Address Date ‘Changed’)
Now, the president has confirmed the latter communication.
“Fellow Countrymen, Countrywomen, and Bazukulu, I will address the country on Friday the 30th July at 8:00pm,” he announced.
“I have asked that the address be broadcast on the different TVs and Radio stations for your convenience. Please ensure that you tune in.”
