President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni will deliver his 2021 State of the Nation Address before MPs of the 11th Parliament next week.
Clerk to Parliament Jane Kibirige has informed MPs the president will deliver the state of the nation address on Friday, June 04.
“Please note that 4th June 2021 has been confirmed as the date for the official opening of the 11th Parliament and delivery of the State of Nation address by HE. The President of the Republic of Uganda,” Kibirige informed MPs.
Article 101 (1) of the Constitution of Uganda requires the president to deliver a state of the nation address at the beginning of each session of Parliament.
The following week, on June 10, Museveni will present the 2021-22 budget.
Available reports suggest the State of the Nation Address might be virtual, with Museveni addressing the House via video link live from State House Entebbe, instead of Serena International Conference Center Kampala.
