Mubarak Munyagwa ‘Kidnapped at Gun Point’ – FDC

Former Kawempe South MP Mubarak Munyagwa has reportedly been kidnapped by suspected security operatives, his Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party has said. 

FDC claimed Munyagwa was arrested as he headed to NBS TV for a Sunday political show.

“We have received the news of the kidnap of Mubarak Munyagwa, our member and former MP Kawempe South,” said the opposition party in a short social media statement. 

“He was kidnapped at a gunpoint by a gang of armed men on his way to NBS TV, whisked away in a drone to an unknown destination. We condemn and [will continue to] fight NRM’s political persecution.”

The reason for his ‘kidnap’ remained unknown.

The arrest of Munyagwa comes days after a war of words with leader of opposition in Parliament Mathias Mpuuga. (Read Story Here).
