Muhoozi: US Ambassador William Popp Disrespecting My Father, Undermining Ugandan Constitution — We’ll Seriously Confront Him

Ugandan first son Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has claimed that the US ambassador to the East African country is not only disrespecting his father President Yoweri Museveni but that he is also undermining the Constitution of the Republic of Uganda. In what could be some diplomatic mess, Muhoozi promised that Kampala was nearly having “a serious confrontation” with Ambassador William Popp.

Gen Muhoozi, who is also the chief of defence forces (CDF) of the UPDF, Uganda’s national army, did not reveal details of what constituted disrespect to his 80-year-old father and Uganda’s ruler for nearly four decades.

Muhoozi, labelled Uganda’s tweeting general by some people, said he had a duty to make the announcement to the entire country that a serious confrontation with Ambassador William Popp.

“Fellow Ugandans, it is my solemn duty to announce to you all that we as a nation are about to have a serious confrontation with the current US Ambassador to our country,” Muhoozi wrote about Ambassador William Popp.

“For disrespecting our beloved and celebrated President and for undermining the constitution of Uganda.”

By the time The Pearl Times published this report, Muhoozi was yet to delete this post that some may consider careless and undiplomatic. He usually deletes such posts after some time, perhaps due to pressure from those who superintend over him.

Muhoozi’s tweets have previously landed him in trouble with his father who previously fired him over his threats to invade Kenya. (See Details Here and There).

And as The Pearl Times has also reported this morning, Muhoozi has described Kenyans who do not like him as “useless” and vowed to continue with his visit to Kenya — days after he claimed that God had told him to forgive Kenyans and not invade their nation. (See Details Here and There).
