First son and commander of UPDF land forces Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has expressed disappointment with people such as NUP leader Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine who have accused the Ugandan army of human rights violations.

The opposition has on many occasions accused the Ugandan military of violation of human rights.

On March 29, the UPDF announced that it has killed 309 suspected Karamojong warriors. (Read Story Here).

But Bobi Wine has asked Ugandans to stand with the Karamojong.

“The pictures from Karamoja Sub-region are most disheartening. Very many Ugandans are being murdered in cold blood. The efforts to end this nightmare haven’t been serious. The people of Karamoja have been asking critical questions and getting very few answers from the authorities,” said Bobi Wine.

“Many times, people from Karamoja have accused security forces of shooting unarmed civilians. There has been no serious attempt to investigate the allegations. In the strongest terms possible, we condemn these massacres and demand that an end is put to these senseless killings.

“Let’s all stand in solidarity with these brothers and sisters. I call on the media to shine a light on what is happening in Karamoja. They need to feel that the rest of Uganda stands with them and that we all understand their pain and suffering.”

But Lt Gen Kainerugaba says he despises people claiming that the army violates human rights yet he thinks the army has saved Black Africa.

“There is no limit to the disdain that I have for anyone, or any entity that accuses our great military of human rights abuses! We are the saviors of black Africa!” said the commander of UPDF land forces.

“It is like the Pharisees who accused Jesus Christ of casting out demons with the power of Beelzebul (the Devil).”
