Muhoozi Birthday Cup: UPDF Releases its Lineup, See Generals who Will Battle MPs in Football Match

Uganda’s national army, the UPDF, has released its team lineup for a match that will be played between the generals and MPs as part of celebrations for Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba 48th birthday. 

As we have reported, the UPDF Chief of Defence Forces Gen Wilson Mbasu Mbadi has granted a request by pro-Muhoozi MPs to have a football match. (Read Story Here).

Now, the UPDF has released its lineup, which includes CDF Gen Mbadi, his predecessor and current internal affairs minister Gen David Muhoozi, among others.

A curtain-raiser match will be played between Friends of Muhoozi and Ghetto Youth.

These teams have also released their team lineups ahead of the April 29 clash.

The Friends of Muhoozi team includes events manager and Radio 4 boss Balaama Barugahara Ateenyi.

On April 23, Kainerugaba held a birthday party at Lugogo Cricket Oval in Kampala.

At the party, Lt Gen Kainerugaba, also the Commander of UPDF Land Forces, unveilled his plan for Ugandan youth. (Read Story Here).

Earlier, Muhoozi had addressed those who participated in a marathon to honor him. The first son said the country was on fire because of him. (Read Story Here).

On April 24, President Museveni held a State House dinner to honour his son Muhoozi. (See Photos from Muhoozi Dinner HERE).

Museveni revealed a special name for his son. (Read Story Here).

The president also described Muhoozi as a special gift. (Read Story Here).

Muhoozi talked of ‘good things’ in the future. (Read Story Here).

Also attending the birthday dinner was Rwandan President Paul Kagame.

Kagame said he was ready to edit Muhoozi’s tweets. (Read Story Here).
