Kawempe North MP-elect Muhammad Ssegirinya has been rushed to Aga Khan Hospital in the Kenyan capital Nairobi for treatment.
Granted bail days ago, Ssegirinya sought treatment hours later.
His doctors have reportedly advised him to seek specialized treatment outside Uganda.
Ssegirinya flew out of Uganda on Sunday.
On April 15, Buganda Road Court magistrate Gladys Kamasanyu granted Ssegirinya a Shs3m cash bail,band and bonded his sureties Shs50m non cash each.
The politician had been remanded at Kitalya Prison since March 22 for inciting violence.
He is expected back in court on March 12.
Ssegirinya is also facing another court case, in which his rival Sulaiman Kidandala is seeking to overturn his election for reportedly forging academic papers.
