Minister Anite tells Kamwokya dwellers: Bobi Wine abandoned you with your bedbugs when he became rich

Junior finance minister in charge of investment and privatization, Evelyn Anite, has castigated National Unity Platform (NUP) presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine for ditching Kamwokya Ghetto dwellers.

On December 09, Anite was in Kamwokya to canvass support for ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) presidential candidate Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni and other party flag bearers.

On the same day, Bobi Wine endorsed Dr Charles Ayume, the NRM candidate who defeated minister Anite in the September 2020 party primaries.

Then, Anite accused Bobi Wine’s NUP and People Power as well as main opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) of rigging the election in favour of Ayume.

Anite has since refused to rally behind the NRM candidate Ayume, calling him a Bobi Wine project.

She is backing independent candidate Charles Yakani.

Anite said she had spent December 08 “discussing with ghetto youths on how to improve their lives especially health conditions such as ending the problem of bedbugs,” further taking a swipe at Bobi Wine for failing to uplift the standards of ghetto dwellers.

She criticized the singer-turned-politician for choosing a good life in Magere and of choosing to insult her.

“When Bobi Wine became rich, he moved away from the Ghetto to a mansion in Magere. He is now in Koboko abusing me. I am in Kamwokya securing the future for the people,” Anite said.

Anite previously claimed Bobi Wine had sent his deputy Lina Zedriga to woo her to ditch Museveni’s NRM for NUP.
