Mauricio Pochettino favourite to replace Thomas Tuchel at PSG

French giants Paris St. Germain (PSG) is set to replace Thomas Tuchel with the former Tottenham Hot spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino.

The Ligue 1 champions are making festive change at the club after struggling for consistency this season with a man who spent time on their books as a player heading back to the French Capital.

It is understood that PSG players have been told that the Argentine will be joining the club after sacking of Thomas Tuchel as talks between PSG and Pochettino started two weeks ago.

Tuchel became the Ligue 1 side’s boss in June 2018, winning two league titles, French Cup and League Cup. They also reached the Champions League Final for the first time losing to Bayern Munich 1-0.

Former Borussia Dortmund manager joined PSG in May 2018 on an initial two-year contract after replacing Unai Emery before agreeing a one-year extension in May 2019.

They are currently lying third in Ligue 1, a point behind Lyon and they will face FC Barcelona after cruising through to the last 16 of the Champions league.

Pochettino who led Tottenham to the 2019 Champions League Final before losing to Liverpool has been linked regularly with the PSG job in recent months.

He played for PSG between 2001 and 2003, and he has been without a job since he was sacked by Spurs in November 2019.

The Former Saints boss joined Spurs in 2014 and guided them to league Cup final in his first season while two third-placed finishes sandwiched a runner up spot in the premier league in 2017.
