Mafia, thieves want to kill me, PM Nabbanja cries to boss Museveni

Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja has revealed that she had received death threats.

Nabbanja says the death threats were channeled through her brother in Kakumiro District.

The PM’s brother is a town clerk.

Nabbanja told reporters in Kampala on July 23 that some people had driven from Kampala to Kakumiro to deliver threats against her life to his brother.

That she only had two options: back off their deals or wait for trouble.

“Someone drove from Kampala to Kakumiro and looked for my brother who is a Town clerk in the village and asked him ‘what does that woman want?” narrated Nabbanja.

But the Kakumiro District Woman MP has sworn not to give up the fight against corruption.

“I told my brother to tell that person, ‘what I want is quality service and proper accountability,” she said.

But she added she would not simply ignore the threats but would let the appointing authority know about them.

“I am going to inform my boss,” she noted.

“I cannot treat it lightly.”

The threats come days after Nabbanja announced she had blacklisted suppliers of substandard relief items to victims of Kasese floods.

She also threatened to sack all government officials involved in the procurement of the items.

“Kasese District is not a dumping ground; I have rejected blankets and mosquito nets because they are substandard. The supplier must bring good ones, these are the things that paint a bad image for our government,” Nabbanja said.

She today gave an update on the matter saying that she has rejected a report from her Permanent Secretary on the substandard items that were delivered to the affected persons in Kasese
