LIST: Top 125 Best Performing UCE 2023 Schools in Buganda (Central Uganda) Region

Uganda Martyrs SS Namugongo, St Mary’s SS Kitende, King’s College Budo, St Joseph’s SS, Naggalama and St Mary’s College Kisubi are the best UCE 2023 schools in Buganda (Central Uganda) region, according to an analysis by The Pearl Times.

The Pearl Times ranking of best UCE 2023 schools in Central Uganda or Buganda region has taken into account the average aggregate score. The 125 schools on the list had an average aggregate score of at least 32 – which is the borderline for between first grade (Division One) and second grade (Division Two).

Also to note about The Pearl Times rankings of the best UCE 2023 schools in Central Uganda or Buganda region is that the schools have been divided into four categories: a) average aggregate score 08-19.9; (b) average aggregate score 20-24.9; (c) average aggregate score 25-28.9; and (d) average aggregate score 29-32.

As such the schools from number 01-17 – a total of 17 schools on The Pearl Times list of the best UCE 2023 schools in Central Uganda or Buganda region – fall in category a.

Schools from number 18-45 – a total of 27 schools on The Pearl Times list of the best UCE 2023 schools in Central Uganda or Buganda region – fall under category b.

Schools from number 46-79 – a total of 33 schools on The Pearl Times list of the best UCE 2023 schools in Central Uganda or Buganda region – fall under category c.

Schools from number 80-124 – a total of 44 schools on The Pearl Times list of the best UCE 2023 schools in Central Uganda or Buganda region – fall under category d.

For each of these categories, the best school is that which has the highest candidature (number of candidates) – not the least average aggregate score. The Pearl Times has chosen this method of ranking because schools with smaller candidate classes would normally find it easier to post excellent performance.

A good number of them do this by filtering out students considered less brilliant. Not that schools with bigger classes don’t filter out students they consider less brilliant, but leading bigger classes to excellence requires more than is required for smaller classes.
