LIST: See Names of Ugandans Killed in South Sudan

Junior foreign affairs minister John Mulimba has blamed Ugandan traders in South Sudan for disregarding safety protocols.

On September 01, Mulimba presented a report on the safety of Ugandans in South Sudan before Parliament.

The report came just a week, since Mulimba presented statement on the same issue during August 25 plenary.

“Every life lost is precious and this Government takes any Ugandan life lost seriously. The Government received with shock and horror reports of the killings of Ugandans and the destruction of their property along this stretch of the Road and we condemn these attacks,” said Mulimba.

“It is important to note that the majority of ambushes have occurred to vehicles that do not respect the convoy agreed arrangements. Hon Members are requested to add your voice in urging travelers to respect and use the convoys provided. Other nationals have also been victims and there has been no targeting of Ugandans per se.”

In his statement, Mulimba also listed Ugandans that have lost their lives in South Sudan.
