President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni has promoted a total of 528 officers of the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF), the national army, to different ranks.
Three of those promoted were elevated from the rank of Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) to that of Colonel (Col).
Some 27 were elevated from the rank of Major to Lieutenant Colonel.
Museveni also promoted 498 officers from the rank of Captain to that of Major.
